Our Trip to DC

Three wheelchairs on a bus! That never happens!
We saw a comedy show "Brett Leake" at the Kennedy Center for the Arts.

Got to try out a REAL chinese restaurant in DC Chinatown.
At one of my conferences I got to shake hands with Patrick Kennedy and take this pic of my new friend Christinne with him.

Went to a hearing in one of the senate buildings to watch Ted Kennedy propose a bill for healthcare in the home. That's one of the things people with disabilities are fighting for. The right to choose to stay in your own home and for Medicaid to pay for homecare instead of going to a nursing home. Of course the nursing homes are lobbying against us.

Top of the Kennedy Center. If you look real close you can see a helicopter flying by at eye level.

And then there's the rowers on the Potomac with a backdrop of the city.
Ray in the foyer of the Grand Hyatt where we stayed.

And for those of you that didn't get Bill's email here he is in Bagdad with the Maine flag. He did an interview with National Public Radio, It's at http://www.nhpr.org/taxonomy/term/9845 if you want to get an update on the state of affairs over there in Iraq.

I hope the bill passes. It we could get that for everyone that would be so amazing. I dread the day I may or anyone I know may have to go into a nursing home. Your hair looks great. Very sexy. :o)

Oh, hey... love the hair too! Way cool.

When did Bill's NPR thing air? Probably all sorts of times depending on where you are. I listen to NPR often. I'll keep an ear out!
