Another Crazy Fourth in Daytona Beach

Well we had a pretty eventful fourth of July. Since we quit smoking in January I see these days as calorie consumption opportunities. For instance we went to breakfast with Brucie at 10am because we couldn't find an open restaurant on the holiday. Then we went to Kathy and Gary's for a 4th of July cookout at 1pm. So after a nap to sleep off those calories we met at the bandshell for a Drifters concert and fireworks and hotdogs and sausage subs. Ok so we saw the Drifters or who we "thought" were the Drifters. At the end of the concert they announce they have some really bad news. It seems that the only "original" member ,Bill Pinkney?sp, that is with this group passed away two hours before the concert. Kind of a bummer. After that we were waiting for the fireworks that were scheduled for 9:45 when at 9:40 there comes another announcement that the barge with the fireworks got hit with a big wave and soaked all the fireworks so no show. Jeez, I think that's the 1st time in eons that I haven't seen fireworks on the fourth. Of course we brought sparklers but it just wasn't the same. : )



So after that disapointment we had no choice but to go to the Boot Hill Saloon and whoop it up! I seem to attract the crazies and this night was no different.
