Long Time No Blog

Lots of things going on. We are still trying to stabilize Ray's vision so he can get glasses and maybe drive and read. I am going to Miami and Gainesville next week for public comment for our state independent living 3-year plan for FILC. Bruce will be out of town also, so Ray will have to take a taxi. No Uber or Lyft here. He's been x-rayed, Cat scanned, stress tested etc to figure out his continued weight loss and fatigue. He's at 152 now. His lung looks good but his Spleen is 3 times the size it should be, and he's anemic. Because of the spleen all of his internal organs have shifted up and are pressing on his stomach so he feels full after eating very little. His doctor said his insides look like an aliens! Next he sees a Hematologist for the anemia/spleen issue on May 4th. We are blessed that I am in good shape right now, besides a little high sugar, and can do the shopping and driving. Hopefully we fix this by next April as it's our 20th anniversary and we are planning a trip to Europe. Spain maybe. Florida counties. They would like me to go to Tallahassee on May 3rd but with Ray's appt on the 4th I will probably let someone else do it. 2009 Ray. Bought a home made broom just my size from the local art show, watching him make it was really interesting. Went to the ocean last week after delivering Ray to the VA at 6:30am for the van ride to Orlando. It was beautiful! The sun came up at 7. Also managed to park in front of two guys sleeping in the bushes. A cop came cruising by and waved. He was going so slow. So since it was a little cool out I went back to my van, opened the back and took my time getting a yacket out and putting it on. By the time I was finished the cop slowly moved past me and moved on. So for that time the two homeless guys were safe. After cruising the boardwalk, they were gone when I got back. : ) Missing Gator still but Cooper is quickly growing in our hearts. We call him the "monster dog". 18 pounds of excitement! Loves to wake up playing in bed! When I sit up he does headstands in my lap! Knocks me over some! At least he has stopped dragging things out to the back yard. ie:sneakers, books, laundry, a sand pail, all his toys. People recommend we crate him but we have never done that before and really don't want to now. Gator had 5 dog beds that we donated to the shelter after he passed. So we got Cooper a dog bed and he curled right up in it. Chewed his dog tag, luckily they are guaranteed so it was replaced. Charlie the bird is doing fine and has excepted his new step brother. My sister Tricia and daughter Alicia May came down from Alaska with intent to move to Sarasota for a job offer. Unfortunately that did not work out. I picked them up at the airport and drove them around to find a new (used) van, bring Alicia to her first day of school. Back to Orlando where they bought Universal Annual passes. We had a great time there! But then they came to Daytona for a night and left early the next morning to make a job interview in NC before heading to Mom's in Ohio. We went to dinner and saw the Beach Boys with some friends! Great concert! Spent time at the camp where we've had a little pest (mice) problem. Ray fixed the hole under the sink and it's been much better. Ray pressure washed the front of the camp while I dug out a little driveway as we have had no luck getting a lawn guy. At least the drive won't be grown over cause I dug most of the grass out and sprayed the ruts with weed killer. Hope it works! Sold Ray's Chevy S10 finally since we have the Scion back. Well, that's it for now. More to come hopefully a little sooner. : )
