Visitors and Youth Senate

Well, we had some visitors down from New Hampshire for the Daytona 500. Robin and Jeffrey. They stayed at the house a week. Here we are at Pat's Riverview for breakfast and also Jeffrey picking some lemons to take back.


I went to Tallahassee last week for 4 days for a Youth Senate. We included two youths with disabilities from our area. They learned a lot about advocacy and how the government works. They got to take tours of the Capitol and to meet a few house representatives. They all seemed to be very impressed with our youth and will hopefully support our bills concerning work, independent living in the community and transportation. Those being some of the bigger items.

The first nite I drove a few folks out to the Long Horn for dinner. L-R Kate,Kevin,Jake Doug. I drove Doug and Jake over from Daytona as they are both visually impaired. Even though Doug can tell me better directions than most sighted folks and he's been blind since a blasting cap accident when he was 8.
