7 Days in Western Puerto Rico

Geez it feels like forever since I've had a chance to update the blog. Sorry.
Ray and I went to western Puerto Rico and visited the cities of Aguadilla, Rincon and Mayaguez (the 3rd largest city after San Juan and Ponce). As usual we had a wonderful time! We stayed in one really nice resort in Rincon and then several smaller hotels like HoJos in downtown Mayaguez and a couple of paradors(puerto rican for bed and breakfasts.)
Here is the place we stayed in at Ft Lauderdale where Ray got us these great flight rates to Aguadilla. $75 each roundtrip. Woo Woo!

How beautiful the scenery is here!

In Mayaguez they had the lights up on the city hall. In daytime it's really quite spectacular artwork.
At Night it's really amazing. The central plaza is totally lit up with these frescos.
How lovely a rainbow is no matter where you are!
Hanging on the beach. Not really easy access these days. I need to drop at least 30 pounds before I can let Ray try to lift me down to the sand. Still pretty tho. : )
This fountain was right outside the El Gaurdian Restaurant in Aguada. Lovely view looking out over the ocean.
Ray getting ice at the HoJo's in downtown Mayaguez. This was a neat old bank building converted to a hotel. One really good and bad point was that great Bakery across the street that stayed open till midnight. Yum! So much for those 30 pounds going away any time soon!
This cool old bank had loads of little features. This was a view from the 5th floor.
We went to a church service on Sunday at the Christians of the Caribean church which we found while driving around. Great location on top of a small mountain looking out onto a valley then the ocean beyond! This young lady played the flute and sax and percussion throughout the service.

That Ray. Always a ham. Check out our You Tube videos for the church service. : )
