FILC Meeting in Orlando

Had a nice meeting of the Florida Independent Living Council in Orlando. It was great staying at the Florida Hotel which is attached to the Florida Mall! Whoot! Lots of shopping after meetings! Had Adapt training by Bruce from Rochester, NY and Linda from Atlanta. Looks like I'll be sent to DC for their next "action" there in April. Their platform is no nursing facilities for those who want to stay in the community. People with disabilities are so often stranded in these facilities by their families and other situations.I am so blessed. Our funny council president JT yucking it up at the meeting! And standing with photojournalist Tom Olin from the ADA Legacy tour!Me too! Such a nice down to earth kind of guy. He travels around the US in this big RV which is so stuffed with signage,brochures,giveaways etc. that he rarely sleeps in it but stays at friends homes around the country.
